We can also search through users belonging to specific organizations, offering a search capability comparable to LinkedIn’s feature for finding professionals in a specific company.

GitHub was initially created not just as a platform for software development and version control with Git, but also as a space for code sharing, idea exchange, and technical problem-solving among its users. Much of the users' activity information on GitHub is openly stored and can be automatically accessed. This includes general user profile details like the number of projects they're involved in, their location, and their technological expertise.

• Note that the technical stack listed on a user's profile is an estimate. It's calculated based on the overall amount of files in the user's repositories and the types of filename extensions, allowing us to approximate the percentage of files associated with specific technologies.

The tool is most effective when used to search through repositories to identify contributors and users who have forked them. Simply find a repository of interest and copy-paste its direct link, making sure to use the correct link format as shown in our example:
